Kenya Missions Update

How Beautiful are the Feet of Them That Preach the Gospel

Brother Haron updates below:

Hello brother Jimmy. We are all fine. The COVID-19 mess has caused a lot of brethren here to be jobless and has reduced even those hard working brothers and sisters to depend on well wishers. For example, our tailoring project had to stop working until after the pandemic due to the countrywide lockdown. To make matters worse, the sisters had supplied uniforms to a school and the the school was closed down before paying for them. They had spent all their capital which had added up to 30000ksk ($300) and they cannot continue until they are paid.

Brother Paul’s firewood business has also closed down because forest government offices are closed down. The Kenyan government has nothing to offer the common citizens. No agencies to offer help, all they care about is to see people locked up in their homes and they use force sometimes too.

The other day, the Kenyan president talked about reducing the tax to the working class but he spoke nothing about clear strategy of helping non working and those many who are laid off or the elderly and the orphans. Seems things are going to be even worse as time goes by. This will also endanger many people’s lives as many who are non working will have nothing for their families as a result they might resolve to break and steal from others (Proverbs 30:8).

We ask for more prayers for sure. But all in all, these brethren are not complaining or tired and so forth.. For the good news is that this pandemic has opened up more opportunities for many brethren to go out and preach JESUS.. The other day brother Gregory was preaching at the food market in Kitale… For sure every cloud has got it’s silver lining.
